Thermage


The Thermage procedure is performed with the ThermaCool™ System, which uses proprietary technology to deliver radiofrequency energy to the deep layers of the skin and its underlying tissue. Thermage can safely deliver controlled, uniform volumetric heat to the target area. In response, the collagen contracts and remodels over time, providing you with tighter skin, renewed facial contours and healthier collagen.

The unique aspect of Thermage radiofrequency delivery lies in our sophisticated treatment tip called ThermaTip™. The ThermaTip device employs a proprietary capacitive coupling electrode to deliver a controlled amount of radiofrequency energy.

This controlled delivery of RF energy creates a uniform electric field in the skin and underlying tissue, which changes polarity 6 million times per second. The charged particles within the tissue respond to the rapid change in polarity and change orientation at the same frequency. It's the tissue's natural resistance to this movement that produces heat, which is known as “resistive heating.”.

In addition, by employing a patented method of contact cooling, prior to, during, and after CRF delivery, a reverse thermal gradient is created whereby the greatest heating is deep in the tissue while the outermost layer, the epidermis, is cooled, which helps to protect it from burns.

This deep uniform heating action causes deep structures in your skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodeled collagen is produced to further tighten skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.
